Spirit beat NAVI to set up Vitality clash in Lisbon

The result has set up a donk vs. ZywOo matchup in the semi-final.

Spirit have defeated Natus Vincere in the BLAST Open Lisbon quarter-final with a 2-0 scoreline (Dust2 13-7, Anubis 13-6) to get their third win over Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen's troops in 2025.

Things will not get any easier for Danil "⁠donk⁠" Kryshkovets and company, however, as they will need to stop Vitality's 14-match win streak on Saturday if they want to reach the grand final.

Spirit's home map of Dust2 proved the correct choice straight from the off, as their B-centric offense gave them a comfortable 8-4 lead at the half. Natus Vincere then showed signs of life, but Boris "⁠magixx⁠" Vorobiev's triple on the P250 nipped their comeback attempt in the bud on the way to a 13-7 victory.

Conversely, Natus Vincere went for a surprising Anubis pick despite playing it just once in the last three months. Their lack of repetition showed early as they went down 1-5 and could only recover to 4-8, giving Spirit a perfect platform to secure a 13-6 win alongside a semi-final spot.

Valeriy "⁠b1t⁠" Vakhovskiy, an anchor famed for his consistency, just recorded a 0.79 across the event — by far the lowest in his LAN career.

Many things are going wrong in Natus Vincere, which is further shown by the fact that Mihai "⁠iM⁠" Ivan finished the event as their highest-rated player at 0.95. Their individual form was simply not up to par with Spirit, who had both Dmitry "⁠sh1ro⁠" Sokolov and donk firing on all cylinders.

"We didn't find that spark to be in control of the game. It felt like we were two steps behind in the game, it felt impossible to string rounds together. They just played better than us," Aleksib said in a broadcast post-match interview.
